About me / this web
This site is powered by Grav, a fast and simple static site CMS. The main theme is Quark2 and, building on that, I have been making modifications, tweaks and customisations to adapt it to my needs.
The end result is static pages served directly as HTML, CSS, a bit of PHP, a bit of JavaScript, and without a database. I switched from WordPress in search of lower resource usage, as the site is self-hosted on my own home server and set up on Debian via Docker with Nginx.
In other words, the posts are ultimately served from my local environment, without relying on external third-party platforms. I prefer this more private approach because it gives me greater control over the publication, configuration and overall functioning of the site. It’s also a good way to learn new things.

I’d like to take this opportunity to link to some other websites that I find interesting and from which I’ve taken a lot of inspiration. I hope they don’t mind...
